Volunteers were most appreciative of the community’s support on Sunday, Aug. 10, when they braved the hot temperatures to wash cars for Pleasant Grove VFD’s fundraiser. For three hours, members of the department washed and dried an almost-constant flow of vehicles that came to donate to the cause. There were eight members present and six other volunteers, including children, who showed up to lend a hand. The event was held at Austin Bank’s vacant lot in Big Sandy with firetrucks, soap, and suds on the scene.The fundraiser, the first the department has held in several years, was deemed a success. PGVFD members are thankful for everyone who donated to the department.
