Enhanced Training Prepares Pleasant Grove VFD for Complex Rescues

To train for search and rescue missions, Pleasant Grove VFD members used two new training props Tuesday, June 24. The first, called a “Denver Drill,” involves two firefighters rescuing a victim from a confined space. The rescuers have to get the victim out of a window to safety. The second drill members had to train on was called an entanglement prop. Firefighters had to find their way blindfolded through the prop trying not to get caught by hanging wires. Eight members of the department took part in this training exercise, which also practiced SCBA skills.
